THE STORY BEHIND CONSCIOUS RIPPLE
Meet Your Coach - Cathy
I was the fifth of six children in a home where vigilance was normal.
My mother struggled deeply. My father battled addiction.
From the outside, we looked functional. Inside, we were constantly adjusting to unpredictability.
I learned to read the room before I had words for what I was feeling.
I learned to notice tone, anticipate moods and adjust myself to keep things calm.
At seven, I survived a near fatal car accident that left scars on my face and a much deeper imprint on me.
No one talked about trauma then. No one asked what I was carrying.
So I carried it quietly.
When school ended, no one asked what I wanted for my life. There was no conversation about dreams or possibilities.
There was simply an instruction.
Get a job.
So I did.
I became capable. Responsible. Strong.
But strength and peace are not the same thing.
Years later, after marriage, children and decades of simply getting on with life, another frightening moment on a roundabout in Thailand stopped me in my tracks.
I began to recognise something.
I had been surviving environments my entire life.
I had built a life. I had become the person people could rely on. I had done so much differently from what I had grown up around.
But I had not fully understood how much of what I had experienced was still shaping me.
I began to notice patterns in myself.
When life became too much, I would withdraw.
I would step away.
Not necessarily because it was what I wanted, but because somewhere along the way I had learned that pulling back felt safer than staying with what I was feeling.
That realisation opened a much bigger question.
What else had I learned to call “just who I am” that was actually a pattern?
The work that followed was not dramatic.
It was deliberate.
I began examining what I had inherited.
I questioned what had always felt normal.
I noticed where I was over-responsible, where I was keeping the peace, where I was putting myself last and where old ways of coping were still shaping my choices.
I stopped confusing endurance with love.
And slowly, I began to live differently.
Not louder.
Not angrier.
Clearer.
That clarity became the foundation of Conscious Ripple.
Conscious Ripple is for women who are ready to understand the patterns they never consciously chose.
The woman who has spent years being everything to everyone.
The one who carries the family, the work, the commitments and everyone else’s needs.
The one who looks capable from the outside but privately wonders:
Where did I go in all of this?
You may recognise people pleasing, perfectionism, silence, over-responsibility or ways of coping that once helped you get through life but no longer feel like the way you want to live.
Sometimes what we think is simply our personality has been shaped by the emotional water we grew up in.
That understanding became the foundation of the Water → Pebble → Ripple → Return Method.
Water
The emotional environment that shaped you.
Pebble
The experiences, beliefs and moments that made an impact.
Ripple
The patterns that continue to show up in your relationships, choices and everyday life.
Return
The process of reconnecting with your own voice, needs, values and sense of self.
This is not about becoming someone else.
It is about understanding what shaped you, recognising what you are still carrying and creating space to choose what comes next.
A return to your voice.
A return to your truth.
A return to yourself.
This is Conscious Ripple.
The work that grew from everything I have lived, everything I continue to learn and everything I now feel called to share.
